Reading the quiz preview without giving an email address
Draft • Research checked 4 October 2026 • AI-assisted DomDNA editorial content. No independent clinical review or publication is claimed. General education, not individual medical advice.
You may want to explore a health-learning quiz without turning it into an email exchange. In the DomDNA preview implementation checked for this article, the result screen can be reached without saving the quiz to the service or providing an email address.
This is a guide to the source implementation at commit 015c7c1926731bfadfa6ede67d0e0b9f401f9674, specifically src/pages/Quiz.tsx and src/pages/Results.tsx. It is not confirmation that these changes are deployed on the public website. The controls you see on a particular release may differ.
Follow the local-result route
After the questions, the preview offers a saving screen. It also provides a button labelled “See local results without saving”. That branch opens the educational results without making the quiz-saving request.
In the checked code, the saving consent and optional marketing consent begin unchecked. Choosing the local-result route does not require ticking either. A name and email are not prerequisites for reading that local screen.
This distinction is about the quiz-saving operation. It is not a promise that visiting a website creates no network traffic, leaves no browser data or prevents every possible form of tracking. Analytics choices are handled separately in the checked implementation.
The ICO transparency guidance explains the importance of telling people what their information is used for. We use it as general context, not as a legal certification of this preview or an audit of every deployed service.
A hypothetical use of the screen
Imagine you answer the questions on your own device and want to read the suggested learning topics before deciding whether to save. This is an editorial example, not a tested user account or testimonial.
You choose the local-result button. The preview displays educational topics and a focus summary derived from your answers. Those topics are not a DNA result, a diagnosis or a prescription. Their presence does not mean that a clinician has reviewed your answers.
If you later decide to save, that is a separate action with its own information and consent. Reading first does not silently supply an email address. Equally, remaining on the local route does not create a cross-device account from which you can recover the result elsewhere.
On a shared device, consider whether you want a browser copy to remain. The preview includes a local resume mechanism; “without saving to the service” and “without storing anything in this browser” are different statements.
Sharing the public link is not sharing the result
The checked Results component has a copy control that writes the fixed public quiz URL, rather than serialising answers into a link. The action is designed to share a route to the quiz, not the person's health details.
The MDN clipboard documentation explains that clipboard writing depends on browser support and a secure context. A copy button can fail. The preview includes a failure message; this article does not promise success in every browser.
Before sending any link, inspect what was copied. A screenshot is a different kind of sharing and can reveal the topics or other visible information even when the public-link control does not.
Do not post personal health answers as a way to ask how the quiz works. A general question about a control or message can usually be asked without including those details.
Local does not mean anonymous
Mozilla's private-browsing guidance explains that private browsing does not make someone anonymous online. It is useful context for separating local-history choices from network privacy.
The same caution applies here: this article describes one implemented path, not the security of your device, extensions, inbox or network. If the preview says storage is unavailable, do not assume a result will survive closing the page.
What you can do with this
In a release that contains these preview controls, read the local-result option before supplying contact details. If you only want the educational screen, choose the route that explicitly avoids the saving request.
For a private walkthrough, decide beforehand what you want to inspect: question wording, the result layout, or the sharing control. You can then describe that specific interface observation without treating it as proof of a health benefit.
For the public site, the quiz route is a general learning destination, not proof that this preview has been released. Check the actual screen and privacy information before deciding how to use it.
